Cost Accountant / Cost Analyst

We currently have an open role for a Cost Accountant/Cost Analyst to join our team

This position is located in Verner, ON. Relocation may be required depending on your location.

Responsibilities:

• Planning, Studying, and collecting data to determine costs of businesses.
• Analyzing data collected and recording results. Analyzing changes in the system to determine effects on cost with operational sales. Analyzing audits of costs and preparing reports
• Providing management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services. Maintaining Cost Accounting System for the Company.
• Assisting in Month end close of the General Ledger regarding the Cost Analysis impact.
• Recommend and direct changes in operating procedures to improve efficiencies.  When necessary, offer analytical support for departmental projects. Coordinate with management to ensure cost forecasting reports are consistently       checked and applied.  Monitor and document actual and estimate reports.  Analyze the market and identify opportunities for growth and potential risks.
• Contribute to developing yearly operation plans, budgets, and estimating new product costs, including economic analysis.
• Develop pricing structure along with reviewing the accuracy of the system.  Along with calculation of commission structure.
• Follow-up with contracts with the ability to interpret them and summarize content.  Prepare financial input for Company financials.
• Review accuracy of the system Business and process optimization.  Follow-up on contracts along with control structures.
• Support the General Manager with respect to operations and ongoing business aspects.  This will be on a daily and ongoing basis. 

Qualifications for this role:

• Minimum of 2 solid years of Cost Accounting
• Bachelors Degree in Accounting
• Must have a strong Cost systems background and have excellent analytical skills; sound understanding of accounting principles.
• Computer Literate – Strong Excel skills and the ability to use Outlook and Word Ability to accurately prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports
